New Aeroplan Program

Air Canada has announced their new and improved Aeroplan program.  There will be exciting new features and benefits with the new program launching November 8, 2020.

Some of highlights of the new program include:

Every seat, every flight, no restrictions

Every Air Canada seat that’s available to buy in cash, you can redeem for with points.

No restrictions. No blackout periods

Elimination of additional airline surcharges on flight rewards with Air Canada.  That means you pay less cash when you redeem – hundreds of dollars less, in some cases.

No cash surcharges

Beginning later in 2021, earn based on the amount you pay for your ticket instead of the number of miles you fly. That’s why your Aeroplan Miles will be called Aeroplan points! When you fly with Air Canada, every fare option and every destination gets you points.

Bring It, Wear It

All air travellers must wear a non-medical mask or face covering while travelling, except passengers who provide a medical certificate certifying that they are unable to wear a face mask for a medical reason.

You must have a non-medical mask or face covering that covers your mouth and nose during your travel through Canadian airports and during your flight.

If you don’t have a non-medical mask or face covering, you won’t be allowed to enter the restricted areas of the airport and continue with your journey.

You will be asked to wear the non-medical mask or face covering:

  • total duration time at the airport
  • at the security screening checkpoints
  • at the boarding gate
  • during the flight

Only time that you are able to remove your non-medical mask are:

  • when asked by an airline employee, a public health official, staff from the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority, or a Canada Border Services Agency officer
  • At gate check-in you will be asked to briefly step back 2 metres, lower your face covering, and put it back on for ID requirements.
  • the security screening checkpoint
  • the boarding gate, to verify identification, after handing documents to airline staff
